Some might say he's a bit of an "enthusiast", and while I have always found it interesting I never had quite the same fervor for the idea. At least not until my last club dive. It just so happened that kgehring had a few vintage rigs setup for people to try. I was feeling a little shy when he first offered to let me try one but eventually I did.

Out of the 5 dives we did that day this was by far my favorite. Everything about the dive was fantastic! This was my first dive with a plate, a double hose reg, or even a steel tank. The freedom of movement was amazing, but I was truly surprised by how much more control I had over my buoyancy. This dive was easily one of my most comfortable and enjoyable dives since getting into Scuba. I still enjoy diving with my Zeagle rig, but this vintage setup had a lot to offer in its own right.

I am really glad I had the opportunity to try out this type equipment. Afterwards I had a whole new appreciation and understanding for this diving style. If you ever have the chance to try it out don't miss the opportunity! You may have noticed that there are a couple blogs I've posted which are dedicated to the local dive locations available to Midwest divers. Members are welcome to comment on the blogs with information about they're last dive. So if you dive there please let us know how the conditions were.

Which brings me to my request. Please list here dive location so I can setup a blog for it. Just list the name of the place and I'll get it posted. These don't need to be located in Indiana but please keep it Midwest.
