The water definitely can will be colder in April than in Oct, at least a bit. Actually, the water around here almost always is colder in April than October. Water loses heat slowly and gains it slowly. Blue Springs is currently 40-42 F top to bottom. It may be in the upper 40s by the 17th, maybe even 50 F. Blue Springs is usually still in the upper 50s to mid 60s in October. So not a drastic difference, but possibly 5-10 degrees colder. It depends what time last Oct you dove ... early or late in the month.

I don't currently have one... Does anybody have one that they can bring.. and I can offer to help refuel it??

If not, I guess I can/should finally go and buy a camping propane stove!?!?

    Jenny,

I believe William said he was bringing chicken and the means to cook it for 50 divers, so I would assume you don't need to bring one. PM deep6 if you have questions. If you want to, I'd suggest hitting up an army navy surplus store if there is one near you to see if you can find one at a cheaper price than you'd find at dicks or gander mtn.

I'm going to wear my 3mm core warmer. No hood or gloves. Booties are optional as my feet get cold easily. I am bringing Chicken for 50. We will also have camp fire to stay warm if need be.
Staying wet is a state of mind and in my case a way of life. Scuba Gear for all levels of diving!

That's a little bit crazy...When I was at Haigh this weekend, we almost got laughed at for wearing 7mm wetsuits, boots, gloves, hood., the whole 9 yards. One guy even told us that we wouldn't make it through our first dive as he was showing off his new drysuit. We made it through two dives in 42 degree water. It wasn't that bad, but I don't think I could even begin to image doing it in a 3mm suit. Hahaha

LOL Not a 3mm suit just a 3mm core warmer. ROFL.

I was there last weekend and spoke with a a few divers and they had 30 ft viz. The water looked great! The place needs to be cleaned up so I'm going to head there this weekend to do a bit of cleaning and get firewood ready for the picnic. (anyone want to come along?) Remember we don't have membership dues and the cost of membership is participation.

The communication team will start calling around the end of the week to remind everyone that the dive is coming up. Remember it's $15.00 to dive. Plan to start getting there around 8am if your going for the early dive and around 11am for the picnic. The afternoon dive starts after we get done eating.

Be there after a four year hiatus from diving. Looking foward to meeting new friends and getting back into the sport.
