The simple answer is, every new diver and those struggling to maintain good buoyancy control should take the Perfect Buoyancy course. Understanding buoyancy is key to safe and easy scuba diving. While the concept of buoyancy may be confusing at first, it becomes clearer when we consider how buoyancy affects scuba divers and what divers need to know to properly control it.
Perfect Buoyancy is a course developed to enhance the skills that were learned in your open water course. Understanding how ballast placement, amount of ballast, thermal protection and body composition is only the beginning. Trim techniques, finning techniques, and breathing techniques are addressed in significant depth. Using these tools, you will without a doubt elongate your dive times, conserve energy, calculate ballast for different environments, and choose finning techniques for the environmental surroundings you are in. Those who choose to go through this course usually are the divers that have chosen to not only be a diver, but be a great diver. This course is recommended for divers of all skill levels. This course is taught by technical diving instructors and technical divers that not only preach, but also practice buoyancy.
How to get started...
Step 1. Create your free diver profile with SSI. This only needs to be completed if you are not affiliated with the Indy Dive Center. Click on the SSI Online Registration link located above.
Step 2. Pay for your Perfect Buoyancy Class. Click on the Pay Online link located above.
The Indy Dive Center is notified that you have completed your SSI Online Registration and purchased your Scuba Diving Course. We'll then activate the course, making it available to proceed with the academic portion of your training. Your instructor will contact you to answer any questions and to get you on your way to completing the SSI dive course.
